A session is 50 minutes long, because I use the rest of the hour to write confidential notes.

My Psychotherapy fees are not covered by OHIP. Many Employee Benefit Plans have coverage for services provided by Regulated Health Care Professionals. Regulated Psychotherapy fees can be deducted as a health expense in many instances. Small business owners who have certain health insurance packages can deduct Psychotherapy fees as a business expense.

I accept cheque or cash at the session, or email money transfer prior to the session.

I accommodate cancellations in dire situations, at my discretion, with 24 hours business days notice (Friday before Monday’s session time). Otherwise I charge my full fee.

Clients have an ongoing reserved time, either weekly or biweekly (every other week) to which I commit. This helps the therapy to proceed well.

When I am on holiday, clients do not have to pay the fee.

I have a scent-free practice since I know that there are people who are allergic to scent and fragrance and react badly to it.

Our work together is confidential, meaning I cannot share what you tell me, unless you give me informed written consent. There are certain exceptions that require me to report child abuse and exceptional risk of harm to self or others. This obligation helps to ensure the safety of children and also of adults at risk of mortal harm. I will be happy to discuss this with you in detail if you have questions that are not answered here. All Health Care Professionals have this obligation, not just me. Another circumstance in which there could be a limit to confidentiality would be if I were to receive a court order for records from a judge, or if someone has driven a motor vehicle under the influence of substance.

If you wish to book a session or if I have not answered other questions that you have, please telephone or email and I will respond, usually within 24 hours and often the same day.
